Windows 10: wushowhide.diagcab / KB5012170

Hello --- Will this ever get fixed? The attempt to install KB5012170 keep failing with 0x800f0922 I have used wushowhide.diagcab to hide the update, but it keeps trying to install it, and wushowhide.diagcab says it hidden --- is there a way to fix this? Thanks

Dell Latitude 5420 receives KB5012170 and then freezes. We do a hard restart and then freezes, again. We go through this cycle about 3 or 4 times before it stops locking up. We are running Windows 10.0.166044 and have tried to update the BIOS to the current. We have uninstalled the KB, however, on the next update it reinstalls. Any suggestions where I can look to see what is specifically causing the laptop to lock up and freeze?

Microsoft had released KB5012170 to Windows 11 version 22H2. It has already been released for previous versions on August 9.

Why is Microsoft Able To Deliberately Override Wushowhide?

thanks for your reply.

I'll certainly look at the windows update minitool and let you know how it goes.

However, I still don't understand how an update hidden in wushowhide can be removed from the hidden updates list without my knowledge or consent.

Even if the update had some attributes changed by Microsoft so it was not recognised by wushowhide.... the original hidden update should still be listed in the hidden updates list.

Some positive action has been required to remove it from the list.
