Windows 10: WWAHost.exe

I am a freelance technical writer doing research related to "wwahost.exe".


I am seeing multiple questions in the Microsoft forums containing error logs from 64-bit systems where "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\wwahost.exe" appears to have issued a call to a DLL residing in "C:\Windows\System32". This would be a 32-bit WWAHost calling into a 64-bit library, which makes no sense.


Before anyone says, "Well, of course you're seeing this in error logs, this is an error," I don't think I've seen anyone, including Microsoft people or moderators, saying in these threads, "Your problem is a 32-bit calling a 64-bit." They seem to be looking for other problems. Is there something about "WWAHost.exe" that I'm missing?

NESHTA.A VIRUS REMOVED BUT .EXE NOT WORKING

It is possible that you .exe is not working due to corrupted system files or account. To assist you better, kindly answer the following questions:

• Does this happen with a specific application or with all of your application?
• Have you tried creating a new admin account to check if the issue also with new account or only with the current account?

USB drive will not run exes.

To assist you better, I would like to ask if you have installed any Antivirus in the Laptop.

I suggest you to run the program in compatibility mode by following the steps provided below and check if the issue persist.

• Right click on the “.exe” file of the program and select properties.
• Under Compatibility tab, check the option for “Run in Compatibility mode”.
• Select the Operating System from the drop down list.
• Click on Apply and OK.
