Windows 10: "X" Button in the upper right hand corner closing windows BEHIND the active window.

I've been having an issue with a relatively newer HP laptop less than 3 months old. The issue is that when multiple windows are maximized and stacked on top of one another, when I go to click the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the ACTIVE window the operating system, instead, closes the INACTIVE window immediately behind the active window. This issue has been occurring ever since I received the laptop issued through my employer. Some details:1 This issue occurs with ANY application, web browsers, Office Applications, any Windows App is susceptible. 2 The issue happens intermittentl

Problem: No "X" on the upper right-hand corner

On Windows 10, I often get a page where there is no "X" in the upper right-hand corner and cannot navigate to other sites. All I can do is turn off the power to the PC and turn on again after about 30 minutes. If I log on too soon, I get the same page
without the X. If you have a solution, please let me know. Thanks

 

X in upper right

Using IE 11, only have one other window open other than Home page.

The box has two options. close this tab or close all tabs.

In windows 7 if you click on the X in the upper right that box closes

Now I have to click on the X and the option box "this/all"

I want to turn the "this tab/all tabs box off! so when I click on the X it closes.

No extra steps!

Cursor jumps to upper right hand corner

I have a Toshiba laptop and use external, wireless keyboard and mouse with larger monitor. Occasionally, the cursor jumps to the upper right hand corner and I'm stuck; it easily corrects by opening and closing the laptop lid -albeit a minor burr but a
burr. I've recently replaced the keyboard and mouse (Logitech), upgraded to latest version of Windows 10 and downloaded key function driver from Toshiba. Still have the problem with about the same frequency - not every time but 3-4 times a day. Thank you!
