Windows 10: Xbox 360 controller switches to Player 2 randomly

    Xbox 360 controller switches to Player 2 randomly


    Xbox 360 controller is switching to player 2 during games. This is the only game controller connected to the PC. I have to restart the PC to get it back on player 1 and lose any progress in the game. How do you fix this? Driver update? Something in device manager? This is Windows 10 64-bit with all updates applied.

    There are several reasons why your Xbox One controller is detected as an Xbox 360 controller by your PC. It is possible that the controller is not updated or if you previously used an Xbox 360 controller on the PC, it is still detecting its drivers instead
    of the Xbox One controller drivers. To properly isolate your concern, please clarify the following information:

    • Have you used an Xbox 360 controller on the same computer before?
    • Does the error message occur on all of the games that you play?
    • Have you tried to update the controller?
    • Are you using an Xbox One Elite controller?

    XBox 3660 controller...switching to player 2 on one controller??

    Ey there, got a small and dumb question but can't find a solution soo...

    Bought an Xbox 360 controller and want to play wih my friends games like Rocket league or portal 2 with Keyboard and mouse and one controller and I don't know how to switch the controller to the 2nd player, to be able to log it in as another controller and
    not as the first one. Appreciate any help from you guys.
