Windows 10: Xbox 360 Peripherals not working. Please Help.

I have had a generic Xbox 360 wireless receiver since April of 2020 and have had no issues whatsoever. I did as most people instructed and installed the drivers manually from ones that were already on my computer. I did a feature update last night and now the driver will not install on my receiver at all. I have tried just about everything I could find online and nothing seems to be working. I also tried downloading the drivers from Microsoft and then editing them to match my hardware ids, but I can't figure it out. I desperately need help since I prefer to play most older games that I have on my computer with a 360 controller. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not too computer savvy so please be as clear as you can when helping. Thank you.

Xbox 360 for Windows does not work

Hi,

To address your concern, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the Xbox 360 controller driver. To do that, follow these steps:

• Go to the Device Manager.
• In Device Manager locate Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
  and right click it.
• Choose Uninstall.
  
• After the driver has been uninstalled, restart your computer. When your computer restarts, Windows 10 will automatically install the missing driver.

Windows 10 x64 Pro Missing Xbox 360 Peripherals

I am trying to install my Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless adapter on my Windows 10 x64 PC. This is a MADDENING experience. I've tried multiple forums and websites and nothing works. The Xbox 360 peripheral suite seems to be missing and I cannot seem to reinstall
it. Windows is up to date.

1) The device worked perfectly on Windows 8 x64

2) I have tried multiple USB ports 2,0 and 3.0 none work , but the light come on...so it's getting power.

3) Windows says it is unrecognized and failed authentication.

4) I cannot force drivers to install....it just won't let me do it.

5) I do not see any Xbox 360 Peripheral suite on my PC. Nor can I find it at Microsoft.

As mentioned...I have watched numerous video, forums, etc....everyone seems to be able to locate Xbox 360 peripherals....I cannot.

Can't reinstall xbox 360 controller driver

If you have this driver installed it should show at the bottom of Device Manager (Hidden... Why ?)

as XBOX 360 Peripherals and be listed in Programs and Features under Microsoft XBOX 360 accessories.

Xbox 360 Controller for Windows | Microsoft Hardware

If it is listed in Programs and Features try uninstalling. Reboot and reinstall.
