Windows 10: xBox account from organizer to member?

How can I change my son's xBox account that's under my personal email as an adult to a proper child account so that I can access his account under the family safety app and instill healthy use and screen time limits? My son's xbox account was created under my email address and I am not able to make him a member of the family app because my email is considered the organizer. I don't want to start a whole new account for him on the xbox because he would lose all his previous content, but I need to make him a child account so that I can access screen time limits appropriately.
