Windows 10: Xbox App Crashes After Installation Win10

Hey guys! I contacted Microsoft Support yesterday and was working with them for hours to try and get this app to work, but eventually they gave up and said to contact Windows Support. Which I plan to do soon but was wondering if anyone else had this issue or know anything about it. My friend bought me Sea of Thieves for Christmas through the XBOX app. I’ve never used the app so I downloaded it from the official Microsoft store page and installed it. Installation goes well, but whenever the app opens it crashes and gives me an error code: 0x80040904I’ve scoured the internet but couldn’t find an

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Xbox app on your computer and check.
Follow the steps provided below.

• 
  Type Windows Powershell in search box.
  
• 
  Right click on Windows Powershell and select
  Run as administrator.
  
• 
  Copy and paste the following command.
  
  • get-appxpackage *Microsoft.XboxApp* | remove-appxpackage
• 
  Press Enter key.
  

After uninstalling the Xbox app, I suggest you to download and install the app again and check.

XBox app crashes on launch in Windows 10

tried tagging you and a few others.. not sure if it worked so i'm replying this way.

i've used the help here, on Lenovo, and Xbox to no avail. final roadblock was the "rollbacking" issue. i'm no techie and don't want to do something that will put my computer at risk.

how else can i resolve this issue?

 

Xbox One app (Win10) crashes when I click on Messages

I had the same problem with the Win10 XBox One App crashing when accessing messages and was also unable to access my messages on XBox.com. This was due to a message on my XBox One. The message causing the glitch was at the bottom of my XBox One message
list. It is green in color and from XBox. I was only able to delete the message from SmartGlass on my phone by pressing/holding the message until the delete option was available. Now both work fine.
