How to Add, Delete, Prevent, and Edit Speech Recognition Dictionary Words in Windows 10

When you set up Speech Recognition in Windows 10, it lets you control your PC with your voice alone, without needing a keyboard or mouse.

Using only your voice, you can open menus, click buttons and other objects on the screen, dictate text into documents, and write and send emails. Just about anything you do with your keyboard and mouse can be done with only your voice.

If you like, you can add a new single word or an expression to the Speech Dictionary to enable your personal words, or expressions to be dictated into your applications.

If you like, you can improve dictation accuracy by preventing certain words from being dictated by excluding them in Speech Dictionary.

If you like, you can edit or delete words that are already in the Speech Dictionary.

Speech Recognition is only available for the following languages: English (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, and Australia), French, German, Japanese, Mandarin (Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional), and Spanish.

This tutorial will show you how to add, prevent, edit, and delete words in the Speech Dictionary used to dictate with Speech Recognition for your account in Windows 10.

  3. E66 - Possible to edit/delete word in T9 dictionary

    Hi

I have a problem with my T9 dictionary.

A wrong word is added to the list and this is the first word to be suggested for a very common input, very annoying as the combination is used a lot.

Is it possible to edit the T9 list in the phone?

    E66 - Possible to edit/delete word in T9 dictionary

Using the Beta lab dictionary editor is your best bet. The function may say you can't delete a word, but if you select edit a word and change it to another word in your dictionary the original word you started editing will be removed :smileywink:

  6. how can i change the default commands on windows speech recognition?

    Hi Pedro,

I suggest you to follow the link below and try to change it. However, if a word or phrase is
bold, it's an example. Replace it with similar words to get the result you want. Follow the steps below:

    • Type Speech Recognition in the search box.

    • Say "open Speech Dictionary."

    • Say "start listening" or click the
Microphone button to start the listening mode.

    • Click or say Change existing words.

    • Click or say Edit a word or
Delete a word, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
    Hope it helps.
