Windows 10: Xbox Backwards Compatibility on Windows 10 PC's or Xbox Game Pass

So I was talking to Xbox Support about this, and they seem to love the idea aswell, I was talking to them about playing backwards compatibility games on windows 10 if you owned the game on Xbox 360, which I kinda already assumed the answer, but I mentioned that it would be a wonderful idea if it was a reality, if you had the Xbox Game Pass for PC and if, in the future, the backwards compatibility program could eventually go live on that aswell, so PC gamers who no longer own Xbox 360's or dont have the money to buy the newest Xbox console can still revisit all those games they hold dear. What do you guys think about being able to play Xbox 360 games that you already own on PC?

Xbox Game Pass is an Xbox One, Xbox Play Anywhere, and Xbox 360 backwards compatibility game subscription for Xbox One. More Original Xbox Games Coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Today we’re excited to announce even more additions coming to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalog this month, including 19 new Original Xbox games and six Xbox 360 games with Xbox One X Enhancements.image:

Starting today, fans can play Sonic Generations for the first time on the Xbox One family of devices alongside other Xbox 360 favorites that will receive Xbox One X Enhanced updates such as Darksiders, Gears of War 2, Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Later this month, we’ll release two batches of Original Xbox games – the first on April 17 and the second on April 26. All of these Original Xbox games will take advantage of the power of Xbox One with up to 4X the pixel count on Xbox One and Xbox One S, and up to 16X the pixel count on Xbox One X. You’ll be able to play all of these games on Xbox One through the disc you already own, or you can purchase them digitally in the Microsoft Store. Please check back on release day for local market restrictions as regional availability may vary.

As a reminder, Xbox 360 games enhanced for Xbox One X run at a higher resolution and 9X the original pixel count when played on Xbox One X. The power of Xbox One X enables the Xbox 360 emulator to showcase the very best version of the game possible with the existing assets – all without touching the game code. And through the power of Backward Compatibility, fans can choose whether they want to experience these games with enhanced graphics or in their original form. See below for how to access the setting. Press “View” and “Menu” buttons on the controller to pull up the Xbox 360 guide

Navigate to “Settings” blade

Select “Xbox One X Settings”

Select to optimize for “Graphics” or “Performance”

Microsoft hints original Xbox games backward compatibility on Xbox One

Earlier this month, Microsoft revealed that its new backward compatibility feature will launch for all owners of the Xbox One in November. Currently available to those in the Preview program, the feature allows Xbox One owners to play older Xbox 360 games on their console, and over 100 titles will be supported at launch.

But Microsoft has revealed that it's been considering the possibility of extending that compatibility further - although it probably won't happen any time soon.

As IGN reports, Xbox chief Phil Spencer responded to an enquiry on Twitter yesterday, in which a gamer asked him how much effort it would be for Microsoft to offer backward compatibility support for games created for the original Xbox, which launched in 2001...
