  3. My Xbox wireless adapter doesn't seem to connect to my controllers. Please help

Hello my name is Fel, a Microsoft Tech savvy guy. I hope this will help you.

If your adapter was installed and working, but it did not respond after waking your computer, this may be because your USB controller doesn't have Wake on Wireless turned on by default. This can typically be managed by the USB controller driver.

There are two solutions to this:

    • While your Windows 10 device is running, unplug the device, and then plug it back in.
    • If that didn't work, you can adjust the properties to enable Wake on Wireless. In the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows Properties window, make sure to select Allow the device to wake the computer. To do so, follow
      these steps:
      1. Go to your Device Manager.
      2. Select Wireless Adapter for Windows in the Network adapters section.
      3. Click Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to bring up the Properties window.
      4. Click the Power Management tab.
      5. Select Allow this device to wake the computer, and then select OK.

How to prevent "Allow this device to wake the computer" from resetting itself when a device is plugged back in

Extremely similar problem as the linked post below, but for windows 10. There isn't a solution for windows 7, but I'm hoping windows 10 has something I can use to permanently disable the ability for a device to wake anything up.

More specifically, My xbox controller wakes up my monitors within a minute of them turning off unless I disable it here:

Once disabled, the monitors stop turning themselves back on, but it's a temporary fix. If I unplug the controller and plug it back in, the setting is reset to allowing the controller to wake the computer.
