Windows 10: XBOX controller headset/microphone/headphones audio devices on windows 10 PC

hi, i'm having issues, with my headset and its microphone when paired to PC. first i noticed when i try to plug my headset directly into the PC, i can only hear sound in my left ear, so i have paired my xbox controller to my PC, the controls work fine but my headset for the xbox controller its and microphone, aren't making or receiving any noise when paired with my PC. it does work when its paired with xbox but not with my pc. the xbox controller appears on the bluetooth devices list, but its not showing up in the audio output or input devices, so neither the headset or its microphone show up

Headset Microphone Not Working on Windows via Xbox Elite Controller

I have my Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller plugged into my PC running Windows 11 via USB. I use a Razer Kraken X Lite headset plugged into that controller via the 3.5mm TRRS audio jack. I am able to hear audio but cannot get the microphone to work. Windows shows both the "Headphones (Xbox Controller)" and "Headset Microphone (Xbox Controller)" under the Audio inputs, as well as the "Xbox One Controller" under the Xbox Peripherals section of the Device Manager. All drivers were automatically installed and show as correct.

I have tried:

• Resetting my computer
  
• Deleting the devices in Device Manager and reconnecting
  
• Making sure Windows and the Xbox controller is up-to-date
  
• Testing the headset, which works when plugged into the controller on my Xbox console
  
• Plugging in the headset to a splitter directly to the computer, which works but is VERY soft and unusable (even at full audio strength)
  

Hoping someone has some idea what I can try besides the things I've already found listed above. Thanks in advance for your help!

 

Xbox Controller Headset Adapter on PC - Microphone Crash

Hi all

Firstly, i want to say that i have tried this using an older Xbox Controller with the headset adapter, as well as using a new Xbox Controller with an aux input. I downloaded the Xbox Accessories app and have updated all the firmware and drivers too.

So heres the scenario and issue.

Scenario:

Im looking to play couch games on my PC in another room. I have an 10m Active USB running from the PC to where i want to play games. The Xbox controller works perfectly fine over the 10m Active USB. I want to use my headset (HyperX Cloud 2) with the controller
for audio + voice chat over Discord etc.

Problem:

When connecting the headset to the xbox controller headset adapter OR xbox controller aux input, Windows recognises the Audio output driver and microphone. The audio output works fine but the microphone crashes after about 3 seconds and stopped working.

Interestingly:

Tested it with a regular cable - both speaker audio and microphone working fine.

Any ideas on how to get the microphone to stop crashing?

TLDR: Headset microphone stops working after 3 seconds when plugged into xbox xbox controller on Windows 10. Headset audio continues to work fine. Connected to PC via 10m active USB

 

Turtle Beach headset working either as headphones or microphone.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a slight issue with my turtle beach xo four stealths on my new pc. Before on my laptop, I simply plugged the 3.5mm jack into the headphone port and they acted as both headphones and windows recognized them as an input device also. However now on my new pc build, I have a headphone and a microphone jack and they work separate from each other. This is a pain as I'm trying to stream with OBS and I can either have a mic or my headphones not both like I used to have. Also on a side note, when I plug the headphones into the microphone jack the sound is super quiet with loads of background noise. These are designed for an Xbox one controller and work flawlessly on Xbox with clear sound etc but on the new pc, they are awful!

Edit: Just found that whenever I plug the headset in as a mic or any earphones or headset windows thinks the earpiece or speakers are the microphones which accounts for the bad audio quality. Now is the question of why in hell does windows think the speakers are microphones
