Windows 10: Xbox Controller is not connecting to Wireless Adapter

I recently installed a new m.2 drive as my primary storage device. I installed Windows 10 professional, installed all of my motherboard drivers just as I did on the old HDD. The old HDD is being used as my secondary storage device.
Prior to the new M.2 My Adapter worked just fine, I used it for many months with no issues. After the fresh installation of windows 10, the adapter does not work. It lights up, blinks when I hit the sync button, but will not connect to the controller. All of my other USB devices work just fine. I've used a few devices in each of the ports to success including the Oculus rift and a few external storage devices.
When I put my Xbox Wireless Controller Adapter onto my laptop, it works just fine. I can connect both of my controllers to it without issue. However, when I plug it into my desktop computer with the fresh windows install it does not. I am current on updates for Windows 10.


I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Wireless Controller Adapter driver several times now.
I am current on windows updates.

I have a GA-AX 370 Gaming 5 motherboard by gigabyte.
Controller works if i plug it into the computer by USB

Wireless Xbox One controller requires PIN for Windows 10.

You will be asked for a PIN when connecting your wireless Xbox One controller via Bluetooth on Windows 10 if your Bluetooth drivers are not updated. It is also possible that you have to reset the controller to remove the PIN. To resolve your concern, restart
your controller by following the steps below:

• Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller for 6 seconds.
• Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.
• Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

Can’t connect Xbox one controller to pc

Initially, we need to pair the device to show up in the list while connected through Bluetooth. Check with the below mentioned steps and see if it works.
