Windows 10: Xbox Controller suddenly requiring a PIN number to connect to PC

I’ve never had this problem or had this happen to me before today, as my question states. My PC is asking for a PIN to connect the Controller to it, I’ve looked at other people’s threads with the same question and the solution of turning it off/on or updating the Bluetooth driver does not work. There isn’t an update for the driver that I can find either and it has no problem connecting to any other device I own.

You will be asked for a PIN when connecting your wireless Xbox One controller via Bluetooth on Windows 10 if your Bluetooth drivers are not updated. It is also possible that you have to reset the controller to remove the PIN. To resolve your concern, restart
your controller by following the steps below:

• Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller for 6 seconds.
• Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.
• Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

Can’t connect Xbox one controller to pc

Initially, we need to pair the device to show up in the list while connected through Bluetooth. Check with the below mentioned steps and see if it works.

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem.

I already have:

• updated my windows 10 (3rd November 2017)
• Reset the controller
• Updated the bluetooth drivers (Windows has determined that the best driver for this device is already installed ... )
• Connected the controller with a USB cable (Microsoft XBox One Controllers works fine if wired)

but the system ask for a PIN

Any suggestion?
