Windows 10: Xbox game bar captures all become green screens

I initially used Xbox game bar to screen record and the videos were fine. However, all of a sudden all of my pre-existing recordings as well as new captures just showed a green screen when played. The audio and thumbnail are fine, but no matter what app I use to open the video, they all show this green screen. I have tried resetting the game bar as well as restarting my PC. The Xbox support was no help and found no solution.

I truly understand that you are having an issue with Xbox game bar that is not showing any captures , let's work on this together for us to fix the issue.



Kindly follow the steps below that could possibly fix the issue.

Fix 1 : Enable game bar in settings

• Go to Settings
  
• Then click Gaming icon to continue.
  
• go to the Game Bar panel, make sure the option Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Gaming bar is on.

Unable to "move" Captures folder for Xbox Bar Captures

Now I don't have 'Game DVR' in Settings as per the tutorial. No idea why- I don't have Xbox and don't use this.
But I do have the Captures section in Settings.

What path is shown on yours (red?) If it's to some Temp folder, change it there in Settings.

You can see where mine is set- to a folder in the Videos library.

If I right click the Captures folder- green- (as described in the tutorial) I see a Location tab - blue.

If yours is not similarly configured, I suggest you make the necessary change.

Xbox Game Bar / Game Capture

Hello,

I am having an issue with the Xbox Game Bar captures. I try to record 3 min. clips of events that happen in game. When I go in my files to review the video, the video does not play. Looks like a screen capture of the video and only audio plays. I have
tried this on two different video game titles. In one game it works, but does not work on the other game. Anyone else have this issue or knows how to resolve it? Thank you for your time.
