Windows 10: Xbox Game Bar not currently available

    Xbox Game Bar not currently available


    I've been using Xbox Game Bar to record a few things (most notably my Zoom lectures for university) recently, but all of a sudden the feature stopped working on my laptop. A popup gives me the error code "0x803F8001" and it says "Check your account; Xbox Game Bar is currently not available in your account". I am signed into the store, Game Bar is installed under my library and I can change its settings, I am just unable to launch it and am always faced with this error code. Every time I open something that Windows considers a game, this same popup appears.

    I searched the error code and it seems to be that the "game" (Game Bar) isn't purchased under my Windows account - I went to the store and re-purchased the game bar and it still has the same error.

    Xbox Game Bar Not Launching

    Hi,

    Xbox is one of Windows 10’s default apps. This app integrates the Xbox with Windows, and it includes a handy Game bar that you can take snapshots and record video with. If the Game bar is not opening, we suggest that you follow the steps provided on this
    link on how to fix problems with Game bar on Windows 10.
