Windows 10: Xbox Game Bar Record Greyed Out

As the title says, I can't use the game bar's record ability. I last used it a couple weeks ago, and it worked fine then. Anytime I try to use the shortcut I get an error saying "Recording isn't working".

I've tried doing all pending updates as well as trying the repair function in game bar settings, to no avail. Does anyone know the fix for this and/or experienced something similar? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Xbox Game Bar Capture Doesn't Record Mic Audio

In addition, you can also check if the Microphone for game bar is enabled under privacy settings.

1. Go to Settings (press Windows +
   I key together) > Privacy.
   
2. On the left hand pane scroll down and look for
   Microphone.
   
3. Toggle Allow apps to access Microphone
   to ON.
   
4. Under Choose which Microsoft Store app can access your Microphone toggle Xbox game bar to
   ON.
   
5. Restart the game bar.
