Windows 10: Xbox Game Bar saving to AppData/Local/Temp

My Xbox Game Bar has changed its Captures folder to C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\Temp. I have no idea why it did this and it was working normally the day before until it suddenly, seemingly automatically, changing its save location. This is bothersome as all kinds of other files constantly get dumped into the temp folder, so I am looking for a way to undo this.I have tried the following and made these observations:- In Settings>Gaming>Captures the 'Save screenshots and game clips'-path is set to C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\Temp. Windows 11 does not support this option- The Temp fold

My Xbox Game Bar has changed its Captures folder to C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\Temp. I believe it did this because I had the original Captures folder on an external drive which was removed. This is bothersome as all kinds of other files constantly get dumped into the temp folder, so I am looking for a way to undo this.

I have tried the following and made these observations:

- In Settings>Gaming>Captures the 'Save screenshots and game clips'-path is set to C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\Temp.

- The Temp folder does not act as a Captures folder; if I move the Temp folder Xbox Game Bar stops saving in it and the game bar seems to stop working.

- Videos are still saved in the Temp folder even if I plug in the old drive recreating the path of the original Captures.

- I have tried the regedit solution. The key value is set to I:\My Drive\Captures (original Captures location on old drive), but changing this location does nothing as Xbox Game Bar just keeps saving in the Temp folder. This location also seems to be entirely independent of what is specified in Settings>Gaming>Captures.

I am wondering if I can do a clean reinstall of Xbox Game Bar to restore the original Captures folder, but Windows' own uninstall is grayed out, and repair and reset seems to do nothing. I tried doing a powershell uninstall, but it didn't seem to work as the Xbox Game Bar-interface could still be launched after doing this, though it was definitely not working right, yet the Microsoft Store still only lets me open Xbox Game Bar and not install it in any case.

I've run out of ideas, so I'm looking for any solutions on how to properly uninstall/reinstall the game bar or recreate the Captures folder. I would definitely like to avoid reinstalling Windows just for this.

As I had manually moved the Captures folder to my external drive (where it functioned; meaning game bar saved to it until the drive was removed) there was no Captures folder in the Videos folder. I have tried recreating it, of course, but Xbox Game Bar seems to be entirely focused on the Temp folder.

As noted in my original post, I have tried the regedit solution with no influence on the Captures folder, but here is my User Shell Folders (I: was the drive that was removed. Changing this does not stop game bar from saving in Temp):

Thank you for replying! Unfortunately, what you have requested did not work for me, and captures are still being saved in AppData\Local\Temp.

I have also attempted using the Repair function with the Xbox Game Bar, and restarting my machine, both not fixing my issue, either.
