Windows 10: Xbox one controller keeps failing

I've seen similar posts before but I haven't been able to resolve my issue and none in the same problem.

My controller will periodically (every 5-20 minutes) act like its disconnected, a simple alt tab or windows button out of the game htne back will fix the problem. I've disconnected and reconnected my bluetooth adapter, disconnected my controller and re-connected it to the bluetooth adapter. I haven't had any issues like this with my Switch Controller.

I've tried to upgrade the firmware but interestingly enough I can't connect my controller to my computer via usb, I'm wondering if maybe I Just need to take it back. I've tried multiple USB cables too...

Can’t connect Xbox one controller to pc
