Windows 10: XBOX One controller + Play and Charge kit issue

Hi all!

I've got an XBox One S, and I've just bought a play and charge kit so I can use it's controller wired when connected to my new Windows 10 build. However, after using it on Windows 10, if I try to start the Xbox One (having unplugged the kit) as normal, the controller is no longer paired to the Xbox?

Is this normal?

Syncing issue with Xbox 360 controller

I use Xbox 360 controller on Windows 1803, it is wireless and I charge it using a cord plugged into the PC. The device manager shows it as "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play & Charge Kit". However, the controller flashes 4 green lights around the
Xbox button. I think it is a syncing issue. I performed some troubleshooting steps like updating drivers, using multiple USB ports, restarting etc. How to fix this issue, help, please.
