Xbox One headset wont stay connected on PC over adapter. Problem persists after replacement

Hi all,I have a very odd issue with my Xbox One Wireless headset. Im using it on PC with an adapter and when I had my AMD system it worked flawlessly. I recently got a new gaming PC with an i7 and 3060ti Windo, and a few weeks later I noticed that the headset would make a "matrix like garbled" noise that my teammates in game could hear as lag for them and would then disconnect. It would then reconnect only to have the same issue. So I thought my 1 year old headset or adapter must be defective. So I got a new adapter. Same issue. Then I thought it SURELY is the headset so I got a replacement

    :)

Xbox Controller is not connecting to Wireless Adapter

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate your time and patience to work on this issue. To have a better clarity on the issue please reply to the following questions:

    • Are you using an Xbox one controller?

If you are using an Xbox one controller, I suggest you to refer the steps in the article

and see if that helps in resolving the issue.

I would also suggest you to uninstall all the hidden devices under USB hive and check if you are able to connect the wireless adapter. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the hidden drivers:

    1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
    2. Select Device manager.
    3. Click View tab.
    4. Select Show hidden devices.
    5. Expand Universal Serial Bus and remove all the greyed out devices. To remove the greyed out devices, right click on the device and select
      uninstall.
    6. Restart your computer.

Please reply with the status of the issue, we will be glad to help you further.

Xbox Controller Headset Adapter on PC - Microphone Crash

    Hi all

Firstly, i want to say that i have tried this using an older Xbox Controller with the headset adapter, as well as using a new Xbox Controller with an aux input. I downloaded the Xbox Accessories app and have updated all the firmware and drivers too.

So heres the scenario and issue.

    Scenario:

Im looking to play couch games on my PC in another room. I have an 10m Active USB running from the PC to where i want to play games. The Xbox controller works perfectly fine over the 10m Active USB. I want to use my headset (HyperX Cloud 2) with the controller
for audio + voice chat over Discord etc.

    Problem:

When connecting the headset to the xbox controller headset adapter OR xbox controller aux input, Windows recognises the Audio output driver and microphone. The audio output works fine but the microphone crashes after about 3 seconds and stopped working.

    Interestingly:

Tested it with a regular cable - both speaker audio and microphone working fine.

Any ideas on how to get the microphone to stop crashing? Xbox One headset wont stay connected on PC over adapter. Problem persists after replacement :D

TLDR: Headset microphone stops working after 3 seconds when plugged into xbox xbox controller on Windows 10. Headset audio continues to work fine. Connected to PC via 10m active USB
