Hey Alpha Skip Ahead ring users! Today’s Xbox Insider Release Notes highlight the latest fixes, known issues, and features coming to your console. Starting at 2:00 p.m. PT today, users will receive the latest 2004 Xbox One system update (build: RS_XBOX_RELEASE_2004\18988.1200.190923-1910). Keep reading for more details.

System Update Details:

OS version released: RS_XBOX_RELEASE_2004\18988.1200.190923-1910

Available: 2:00 p.m. PT – September 25, 2019

Mandatory: 3:00 a.m. PT – September 26, 2019

Fixes for Alpha Skip Ahead

We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re happy to announce the following fixes have been implemented for this 2004 build:

Accessibility

Various improvements to Narrator function in Guide.

Guide

Fixed an issue where profile status would not update with accurate information.

Media Remote

Fixed an issue when navigating the console with a Media Remote not working correctly.

Mixer

Fixed an issue where some chat messages would not be displayed when watching full screen on the Mixer tab on the dashboard.

Sign in

Fixed the issue where users were prompted for their password or PIN when console set to sign in automatically.

System

Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

Wireless Networking

Fixed the issue where some users were prompted to enter the wireless network settings with each new update.

Known Issues for Alpha Skip Ahead

We understand some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. These issues aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution. We appreciate your patience at this time!

Audio

Users who have Dolby Atmos enabled and console display settings set to 120hz with 36 bits per pixel (12-bit) are experiencing loss of Dolby Atmos audio in some situations.

Workaround: Disable 120hz or set Video Fidelity to 30 bits per pixel (10-bit) or lower.

Dolby Access

Users are unable to complete the setup for Dolby Atmos in the app and the app is not recognizing Dolby Atmos headphones

Note: This is an issue with the Dolby Access app and the app developers are aware and investigating.

My Games & Apps

Users have reported seeing an “Xbox Events” app in their collection.

Note: This app will be used to experiment with a new Events experience to showcase in-game events. We’ll have more to share when the feature is ready for Preview.

System

Some users have reported the console shutting down unexpectedly while using Netflix.

Note: The console may take longer to reboot/shut down than normal. This is expected behavior, please do not power off the console manually. There is essential information being collected to investigate the cause of the issue.

Some users have reported the console shutting down while playing games.

Users are reporting that the Idle Screen is activating when watching streaming content on the console.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead 1910 Update 190523-1920 - May 25

UPDATE 6/1: Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead 1910 Update 190530-1940 - June 1

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PST today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead Ring will begin receiving the latest 1910 Xbox One system update (19H1_RELEASE_XBOX_DEV_19H2HOLD_1910\18362.7133.190523-1920). This build has the same features and fixes that are coming in 1906 however we need valuable core recovery coverage and feedback as we skip ahead.

New Features:

This first update is meant to lay the groundwork for what’s to come in 1906 to 1910, so while you’ll find fixes and known issues listed below, please keep an eye out for feature announcements as they’re ready to be previewed. Thanks, as always, for your passion for helping make Xbox One system updates the best they can be prior to release to GA!

Mixer

Users can watch full-screen Mixer streams on the Mixer Twist. Simply navigate to the Mixer twist, select a stream and hit A. Please test out these new features and provide feedback.

Fixes:

Audio – Blu-ray

We have fixed an issue in which Xbox Blu-ray without passthrough did not correctly handle headset insertion/removal when Spatial is enabled.

Messaging

Fixes addressing navigation with the Voice capture feature

My Games and Apps

Fixes addressing the failure to launch some games and apps with the “Too Long to Start” error.

Fixes addressing games that simply failed to launch and dropped the user back to home.

Fixed an issue in which some games were displaying the incorrect update size.

System

Narrator fixes to various parts of Home and the Dashboard.

Localization fixes.

OOBE (Out Of Box Experience) UI and workflow fixes.

Known Issues:

Audio

Headsets are not being assigned to the users profiles and not working correctly.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

USB TV Tuner

We are aware that the USB TV tuner is not working in Oneguide.

Known Issues:

Audio

Headsets are not being assigned to the users profiles.

Some users are experiencing no audio with headsets and we are investigating

Some users are encountering no audio on their Xbox console after boot (no shell audio, no game audio, no app audio), then have CSS ask them to perform the following steps:

Cold reboot the console

OR

Go to Audio settings on console

Change their HDMI audio settings to the highest supported uncompressed channel count for their equipment

Switch back to the desired format

Audio should be restored

My Games and Apps

We are tracking the video corruption issue with Youtube and Netflix 4k playback.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Settings – Hard Drive Transfer

Moving/copying content from one drive to another fails to move past the assign drive and no content is moved. We are working on a fix. Workaround – You can use a GA console 1904 build to move content.

Fixed an issue where alerts/notifications were not loading when accessed in the Guide.

Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

Known Issues:

Audio

Users who have Dolby Atmos enabled and console display settings set to 120hz with 36 bits per pixel (12-bit) are experiencing loss of Dolby Atmos audio in some situations.

Workaround: Disable 120hz or set Video Fidelity to 30 bits per pixel (10-bit) or lower.

Some users using default audio settings with an audio setup that supports a maximum of 2 channels and Dolby Digital and NO headset connected will experience audio distortion when they start their console.

Workaround: Navigate to Settings>Display & sound>Audio output and set the HDMI audio to Stereo Uncompressed.

Controllers

Some users have reported that they are unable to power on their console via a controller.

Note: If you encounter this behavior, please make sure to include the firmware version of the controller in your feedback description. This can be accessed by navigating to Settings>Devices & streaming>Accessories using the controller experiencing the behavior and select the ellipsis from the Controller menu.

Gamertag

Customers attempting to change their GT using the new Gamertag features on the console will not yet see those changes reflected on the console.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.
