Hey Alpha Skip Ahead ring users! Today’s Xbox Insider Release Notes highlight the latest fixes, known issues, and features coming to your console. Starting at 2:00 p.m. PT today, users will receive the latest 2004 Xbox One system update (build: RS_XBOX_RELEASE_2004\18992.1200.190925-1920). Keep reading for more details.

System Update Details:

Available: 2:00 p.m. PT – September 27, 2019

Mandatory: 3:00 a.m. PT – September 28, 2019

New Features

Our Xbox Insider Release Notes come with exciting news! Your enthusiasm for all things Xbox has helped us bring new features to your ring. Thanks to the dedication of Xbox engineers and user feedback, Alpha Skip Ahead users can expect the following new features with this OS system update:

Xbox For Google Assistant

Console Streaming

We’re getting ready to roll out Console Streaming (Preview)! Console Streaming is our new Xbox One platform feature that lets you stream installed Xbox One games (including Xbox Game Pass titles) to your phone or tablet directly from the Xbox One you already own. Those with consoles in Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead Ring in the US and UK can now test their home network, controller and console settings to get ready for the preview.

To run the test, go to Settings -> Network settings -> Test console streaming to get started. The on-screen prompts will let you know if your console, controller and network pass the test, or let you know if there’s anything that needs to be changed. For additional information on how to ensure your console and network are optimized for Console Streaming, please visit the Xbox Support website.

Fixes for Alpha Skip Ahead

We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re happy to announce the following fixes have been implemented for this 2004 build:

System

Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

Known Issues for Alpha Skip Ahead

We understand some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. These issues aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution. We appreciate your patience at this time!

Audio

Users who have Dolby Atmos enabled and console display settings set to 120hz with 36 bits per pixel (12-bit) are experiencing loss of Dolby Atmos audio in some situations.

Workaround: Disable 120hz or set Video Fidelity to 30 bits per pixel (10-bit) or lower.

Dolby Access

Users are unable to complete the setup for Dolby Atmos in the app and the app is not recognizing Dolby Atmos headphones

Note: This is an issue with the Dolby Access app and the app developers are aware and investigating.

My Games & Apps

Users have reported seeing an “Xbox Events” app in their collection.

Note: This app will be used to experiment with a new Events experience to showcase in-game events. We’ll have more to share when the feature is ready for Preview.

System

Some users have reported the console shutting down unexpectedly while using Netflix.

Note: The console may take longer to reboot/shut down than normal. This is expected behavior, please do not power off the console manually. There is essential information being collected to investigate the cause of the issue.

Some users have reported the console shutting down while playing games.

Users are reporting that the Idle Screen is activating when watching streaming content on the console.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead 2004 Update 190912-1920 - Sept. 16

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PST today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead Ring will begin receiving the latest 2004 Xbox One system update (Build: RS_XBOX_RELEASE_2004\18981.1202.190912-1920).

FIXES:

Guide

Fixed an issue where the Guide would show a game installing when it has been cancelled.

Accessibility

Fixed an issue with the power menu not displaying correctly with Light Theme enabled.

Fixed an issue where the narrator would not read some items in the Gamerscore Leaderboard.

System

Fixed an issue when manually closing games and apps via the menu.

Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

KNOWN ISSUES:

Customers attempting to change their GT using the new Gamertag features on the console will not yet see those changes reflected on the console.

We are aware of an issue where some users are reporting that USB webcams are not being recognized when trying to broadcast.

My Games & Apps

Some users have reported that they are missing some titles from their Ready to Install section.

Note: We have added additional logging to help investigate this behavior. If you encounter this on the latest update, please submit feedback and be sure to include the names of the titles that are missing in the description.

Sign in

We are tracking an issue in which some users may be prompted for their password or PIN even if they have the option to not prompt.

Workaround: Perform a cold boot of the console.

Store

We are tracking an issue in which some users are unable to complete in-game purchases for games & apps.

Workaround: Purchase items directly from the Store.

System

Some users are reporting that HDR is not working with games/apps on the console.

Workaround: Restart the console to get HDR working again.

Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead 1910 Update 190424-1920 - April 27

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PST today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead Ring will begin receiving the latest 1910 Xbox One system update (19H1_RELEASE_XBOX_DEV_19H2HOLD_1910\18362.7073.190424-1920). This build has the same features and fixes as 1905 however we need valuable core recovery coverage and feedback as we skip ahead.

My Games and Apps

Fixes to address Multiple Games/Apps failing to launch with the too long to start error on latest update.

Settings – Hard Drive Transfer

We have fixed the Moving/copying content from one drive to another.

System

Fixed a sign in crashing bug.

Localization fixes.

UI and string changes to the Xbox Assist App.

UI fixes to address flickering when starting the Xbox Accessories app.

Known Issues:

Audio

Headsets are not being assigned to the users profiles.

Some users are experiencing no audio with headsets and we are investigating

Some users are encountering no audio on their Xbox console after boot (no shell audio, no game audio, no app audio), then have CSS ask them to perform the following steps:

Cold reboot the console

OR

Go to Audio settings on console

Change their HDMI audio settings to the highest supported uncompressed channel count for their equipment

Switch back to the desired format

Audio should be restored

My Games and Apps

We are tracking the video corruption issue with Youtube and Netflix 4k playback.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.
