Hey Alpha Skip Ahead ring users! Today’s Xbox Insider Release Notes highlight the latest fixes, known issues, and features coming to your console. Starting at 2:00 p.m. PT today, users will receive the latest 2004 Xbox One system update (build: RS_XBOX_RELEASE_2004\19008.1204.191023-2300). Keep reading for more details.

System Update Details:

Guide Customization

Some of you discovered a Guide Tab reorder button with a recent update. We don’t want to keep you waiting, so we’ve turned it on early for feedback from Alpha Skip-Ahead users this yesterday. Let us know what you think!

Voice to Text

Dictation is back with support for more languages! With either a headset or Kinect, you can press the View button when the keyboard is on screen to start converting speech to text. Check out the full list of languages below, and head to Settings -> System -> Language & location if you want to change your keyboard & dictation language.

Some users may see changes to managing and redeeming Xbox Live Gold benefits. This feature is only enabled for a portion of the Xbox Insider audience to gauge interest and collect feedback.

Fixes for Alpha Skip Ahead

We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re happy to announce the following fixes have been implemented for this 2004 build:

Store

Fixed an issue where game trailers are not playing sound.

Note: This is due to a new Store setting where audio for Autoplay videos is off by default. You will need to enable this setting to fix the behavior.

Sign In

We’ve fixed an issue where some users would see the sign in screen go blank and a loading icon indefinitely.

System

Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

Known Issues for Alpha Skip Ahead

We understand some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. These issues aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution. We appreciate your patience at this time!

Audio

Users who have Dolby Atmos enabled and console display settings set to 120hz with 36 bits per pixel (12-bit) are experiencing loss of Dolby Atmos audio in some situations.

Workaround: Disable 120hz or set Video Fidelity to 30 bits per pixel (10-bit) or lower.

Dolby Access

Users are unable to complete the setup for Dolby Atmos in the app and the app is not recognizing Dolby Atmos headphones

Note: This is an issue with the Dolby Access app and the app developers are aware and investigating.

My Games & Apps

Users have reported seeing an “Xbox Events” app in their collection.

Note: This app will be used to experiment with a new Events experience to showcase in-game events. We’ll have more to share when the feature is ready for Preview.

Home (Experiment)

Some users may see a different Store icon on the dashboard than what normally appears.

Some users may see their content blocks reset randomly during the experiment.

Store

Some users are reporting issues making in-game purchases in Fortnite.

Workaround: Reboot the console and then attempt to make the purchase. If you still see the behavior, make sure and report it from the console.

Voice Commands

Some users are reporting powering on their console via Google Assistant or Alexa is giving an error, but then powers the console on after a delay.

Xbox Console Companion App

We’ve seen reports of users being unable to stream their Xbox console to their Windows PC via the app.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Fixes for Alpha Skip Ahead

We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re happy to announce the following fixes have been implemented for this 2004 build:

Accessibility

Various improvements to Narrator function in Guide.

Guide

Fixed an issue where profile status would not update with accurate information.

Media Remote

Fixed an issue when navigating the console with a Media Remote not working correctly.

Mixer

Fixed an issue where some chat messages would not be displayed when watching full screen on the Mixer tab on the dashboard.

Sign in

Fixed the issue where users were prompted for their password or PIN when console set to sign in automatically.

System

Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

Wireless Networking

Fixed the issue where some users were prompted to enter the wireless network settings with each new update.

Xbox One Preview Alpha & Skip System Update 1806.180623-1816 - June 25 Xbox

Starting at 6:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead Ring will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1806.180623-1816). Read on for more about the fixes and known issues in the latest 1806 system update.

Fixes:

My Games and Apps

Fixed an issue with the Pause function when installing an App or Game.

System Performance

Misc. performance fixes in the platform.

Known Issues:

Game Pass Tab

Preview Alpha and Alpha – Skip Ahead users will notice that the Entertainment tab has been replaced on the dashboard with Game Pass content. This new tab allows for easy access to the Game Pass catalog and is only available in the US region at this time, so Preview Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead Insiders in regions outside of the US will continue to see the Entertainment tab.

Groups

You may see issues with Groups if you frequently switch between your non-Preview console and your Preview console. Workaround: Reset your Groups locally on the Preview console through “My games & apps” > Groups, then using the “Delete all groups” button at the bottom of the page to resync from the service.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Networking

When the console wakes from Instant on/connected standby with a wired connection, the console may not recognize that the Ethernet cable is plugged in. Workaround: Please reboot the console via Guide -> reboot.

Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead 1910 Update 190422-1920 - April 25 Xbox

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PST today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead Ring will begin receiving the latest 1910 Xbox One system update (19H1_RELEASE_XBOX_DEV_19H2HOLD_1910\18362.7069.190422-1920). This build has the same features and fixes as 1905 however we need valuable core recovery coverage and feedback as we skip ahead.

Known Issues:

Audio

Headsets are not being assigned to the users profiles.

Some users are experiencing no audio with headsets and we are investigating

Some users are encountering no audio on their Xbox console after boot (no shell audio, no game audio, no app audio), then have CSS ask them to perform the following steps:

Cold reboot the console

OR

Go to Audio settings on console

Change their HDMI audio settings to the highest supported uncompressed channel count for their equipment

Switch back to the desired format

Audio should be restored

My Games and Apps

We are tracking the video corruption issue with Youtube and Netflix 4k playback.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Settings – Hard Drive Transfer

Moving/copying content from one drive to another fails to move past the assign drive and no content is moved. We are working on a fix. Workaround – You can use a GA console 1904 build to move content.
