This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable displaying an alternate calendar in the Calendar app for your account in Windows 10.


EXAMPLE: Chinese (Traditional) Zodiac alternate calendar enabled in Calendar app






Here's How:

1. Open the Calendar app.

2. In the Calendar app, click/tap on the Settings (gear) button at the lower left, and click/tap on Calendar Settings in the Settings flyout. (see screenshot below)



3. Do step 4 (enable) or step 5 (disable) below for what you want to do.


4. To Enable Alternate Calendars in Calendar app
A) In the Calendar Settings flyout, check the Enable box under Alternate Calendars. (see screenshot below)

B) In the first drop menu, select the language (ex: "Chinese (Traditional)") you want.

C) In the second drop menu, select the calendar (ex: "Zodiac") you want.

D) Go to step 6.





5. To Disable Alternate Calendars in Calendar app
*note This is the default setting.
A) In the Calendar Settings flyout, uncheck the Enable box under Alternate Calendars, and go to step 6. (see screenshot below)





6. Click/tap on an empty area outside the Calendar Settings flyout to close the Calendar Settings flyout and apply setting changes.

My understanding is that they added Persian Calendar support.

I don't know much about this support, or whether there are others.. or what it all means... I just know that they have added other calendars.

the calendar app is not as powerful as I had hoped. no support for alternative calendars, and no recurring events either. It's not getting close to the functionality of the Outlook calendar.

is there any? I am talking about lunar calendars, such as the hebrew lunar calendar.
and if there is support, can you schedule a recurring event according to an alternative calendar, like you can in Outlook calendar? Or maybe you can import your Outlook calendar with all its recurring events?

 

Enable or Disable New Clock and Calendar in Windows 10

In addition to scrolling the calendar, you can click on the month/year to jump to the whole year and click on the year to jump to all years from 1900 - 2099.
Clicking on the date or closing the application brings it back to default.
