Windows 10: Xbox One Preview Alpha & Skip System Update 1810.180807-1920 - Aug. 9

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead and Preview Alpha rings will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1810.180807-1920). Learn more about the new features in development for 1810 here, and read on for a list of fixes and known issues in this 1810 system update.

Important Build Notes

Avatars

We’ve received feedback that the integration of Avatars on console has been a bit confusing due to the use of phrases like “Avatars on Home” and “Avatars on Dashboard,” so we wanted to clear up a few things. Currently, Avatars are visible to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha Rings in the following places: the Avatar Editor, activity feed, leaderboards, and the Profile.

My Games and Apps

You will notice a User Interface (UI) change to the filters in My Games and Apps. Please provide your feedback as we flight this new UI.

FIXES:

Audio

We have fixed the issues with audio that some users with HDMI audio experienced hearing no audio at all or intermittent audio.

Stability fixes to address failures with various console sound settings of PCM, Dolby Atmos and DTS.

Groups

Fixes so that users should not see errors when moving groups

Fixes for some users that had groups disappear.

Fixes for users getting errors when trying to edit Groups with last 1810 build.

My Games and Apps

Improvements to the AI and tech used in the FastStart installation process.

Streaming Apps

Streaming apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Plex and Youtube should no longer crash given the audio fixes.

System Performance

Various localization bug fixes.

Various Performance and bug fixes.

Virtual Keyboard

Fixes to ensure the Virtual Keyboard works with Hulu

KNOWN ISSUES:

Audio

We are aware that some users are experiencing issues with headsets with the mic not working. Please file feedback when you see this.

Avatars

It can take up to 10 seconds to view an Avatar on the profile screen the first time after your console has flashed.

Console performance

We are aware that some users encounter performance issues when coming out of instant on. Please take the console update and then after it has landed on home, wait and be patient as some fixes are implemented. You should then see subsequent boots being a lot faster. Please file feedback if you continue to see issues.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge crashes for some users at random times.

The cursor may disappear when exiting and re-entering the app

Workaround: Press Y when re-entering the app to make the cursor re-appear

Oneguide

Sometimes users may encounter stuttering when launching straight into Oneguide after the console is turned on from Instant on. Please file feedback when you see this.

Here is a workaround to resolve temporarily:

Navigate Home via the Guide

Quit OneGuide manually from the Home screen

Wait 15-30 secs

Launch any other streaming app (Netflix, HBOGO, YouTube)

One launched, play a video

Once video begins playing (it should play normally) exit the app and relaunch OneGuide

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Virtual Keyboard

We are aware that some characters in when using the Virtual Keyboard in conjunction with a chat pad. Workaround : Disconnect the chatpad.

Xbox One Preview Alpha & Skip System Update 1806.180612-1920 - June 15

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead Ring will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1806.180612-1920). Read on for more about the new feature, fixes and known issues in the latest 1806 system update.

New Features:

Game Pass Tab

Preview Alpha and Alpha – Skip Ahead users will notice that the Entertainment tab has been replaced on the dashboard with Game Pass content. This new tab allows for easy access to the Game Pass catalog and is only available in the US region at this time, so Preview Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead Insiders in regions outside of the US will continue to see the Entertainment tab. If you have access to the new Game Pass tab, please provide feedback as we evaluate and refine the experience!

Fixes:

My Games and Apps

Fixed an issue for Games that are being updated that use the Fast Start feature. Users will no longer have the game uninstalled if they cancel a game update.

Fixed an issue with the installation and launching of the CW app. The app now launches correctly.

Localization

Various localization fixes across the console.

Party Chat

Performance improvements to the stability and reliability of Party Chat.

System Performance

Misc. performance fixes in the platform.

YouTube

The issue with some users are encountering an issue where their YouTube account is being signed out whenever they launch the app is resolved.

Known Issues:

Friends

Some users may notice that the online status of Friends is not updating correctly.

Game Pass Tab

Preview Alpha and Alpha – Skip Ahead users will notice that the Entertainment tab has been replaced on the dashboard with Game Pass content. Workaround: Please perform the following steps to fix the issue

Open My Games & Apps

Navigate to Groups tab

Scroll to the bottom of the page

Select Delete all groups

Select Delete local groups

The Groups tab in My games & apps may not show after sign in even though you can access Groups in Guide, or you may see “This group does not exist” on Home on first sign-in for your existing Groups. Workaround: Sign in / out to refresh these pages.

Some changes might not be reflected when editing Groups between multiple consoles after coming out of connected standby. Sign in/out to fix.

Using special characters in Group names (e.g. &,”) causes issues during Group creation or using the “Add more” flow. Note: emojis are fine. This is being fixed in an upcoming build.

You may see issues with Groups if you frequently switch between your non-Preview console and your Preview console. Workaround: Reset your Groups locally on the Preview console through “My games & apps” > Groups, then using the “Reset groups” button at the bottom of the page to resync from the service.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Networking

Work continues on the stability of the Wi-Fi connectivity. If you see any issues please report the problem for investigation by performing a Full system software via the dashboard as opposed to just pressing the Xbox Power button.

New Features:

Game Pass Tab

Preview Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead users will notice an update to your dashboard as we test out bringing a new Xbox Game Pass tab to the Xbox Home screen, enabling easy access to the catalog. This tab does replace the Entertainment tab. We’d love your feedback as we evaluate and refine the experience. Let us know what you think!

Fixes:

Apps

Fixed an issue in which some Apps would fail to launch until the console was rebooted.

Groups

Fixed an issue where some users encountered an error when attempting to remove pins from Groups.

Localization

Various localization fixes across the console.

Netflix Atmos Audio/Video Sync issues:

Netflix has resolved issues with the following Atmos titles with audio lip-sync delay.

Mudbound

Store

Fixed an issue in which browsing items in the Store would cause the Store app to crash.

System Performance

Misc. performance fixes in the platform.

Video Broadcasting

Fixed an issue in which broadcasting was not functioning correctly for all Games and Apps.

Xbox One Preview Alpha System Update 1805.180409-1920 - April 13

Starting at 6:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Rings will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1805.180409-1920). We have a host of great new features that we’ll announce over the coming weeks for future 1805 builds. Fixes:

Microsoft Edge

Stability and performance fixes for Microsoft Edge, specifically when multiple tabs or videos are open.

Known Issues:

Audio

Some users may experience intermittent loss of Audio with certain configurations of AV receivers with ATMOS or with changing audio configurations during console use.

Pi-hole

Pi-hole users may encounter issues signing in, creating, or recovering accounts upon downloading the 1804 update. This is due to a new configuration file which is downloaded from a URL Pi-hole blocks by default.

Workaround: Add clientconfig.passport.net to the Pi-hole allowed IP address list.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.
