Windows 10: Xbox One Preview Beta System Update 1810.180819-1920 - August 23

Starting at 3:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Beta ring will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1810.180819-1920). This is the first 1810 build shipped to The Preview Beta ring. Check out the exciting new features in development for 1810 here, and read on for a list of fixes and known issues in this 1810 system update.

Language

Various localization fixes.

Known Issues:

Audio

We are aware that some users are experiencing issues where mics do not work. Please ensure that your controller is running the latest Firmware (Settings – Kinect & Devices – Devices & Accessories) and make sure game volume is not muted. Be sure to file feedback using the “Report a problem” tool when you experience this issue.

Avatars

We are aware that, in some instances, Avatar limbs (feet & hands) are pointing in unexpected directions and facial hair is appearing where it should not. Please file feedback should you experience this.

It can take up to 10 seconds to view an Avatar on the profile screen after creating a new Avatar.

My Games & Apps

EA Access App – We are aware that the EA Access app will crash when navigating in the app and become unresponsive.

Shudder App – We are aware that the Shudder app may become unresponsive.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge crashes for some users at random times.

The cursor may disappear when exiting and re-entering the app.

Workaround: Press Y when re-entering the app to make the cursor re-appear

OneGuide

Sometimes users may encounter stuttering when launching straight into Oneguide after the console is turned on from Instant on. Please file feedback when you see this.

Workaround: If you have a Kinect sensor connected to the console, try disabling it by going to Settings>Kinect & devices>Kinect and toggling the Kinect sensor off. Then re-launch OneGuide.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Virtual Keyboard

We are aware that some characters appear incorrectly when using the Virtual Keyboard in conjunction with a chatpad.

Workaround: Disconnect the chatpad.

Xbox One Preview Alpha System Update 1805.180419-1920 - April 23

Fixes:

Apps

We have fixed an issue in which certain apps would fail to launch such as Hulu, Spotify, Microsoft Edge, You Tube and Kodi.

My Games and Apps

Fixed an issue in with users would lose navigation controls/focus in the manage gamesection to delete save data for a game.

Movies & TV

Fixed the issue in which some users could not view Previously purchased TV episodes and Movies.

Store

We have resolved an issue in which some users were not able to see focus outline to change the payment option when purchasing a Back Compat title.

Known Issues:

Audio

Some users may experience intermittent loss of Audio with certain configurations of AV receivers with ATMOS or with changing audio configurations during console use.

Pi-hole

Pi-hole users may encounter issues signing in, creating, or recovering accounts upon downloading the 1804 update. This is due to a new configuration file which is downloaded from a URL Pi-hole blocks by default.

Workaround: Add clientconfig.passport.net to the Pi-hole allowed IP address list.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Xbox One Preview Beta System Update 1806.180531-1920 - June 4

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Beta Ring will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1806.180531-1920). Read on for more about the fixes and known issues in the latest 1806 system update.

New Features:

Additional Accessibility Options – New Narrator languages

Users can now enable the new Narrator languages: Spanish (es-MX, es-AR, es-CO, es-CL), English (en-AU), Portuguese (pt-BR), Polish (pl), Swedish (sv-SE), and Dutch (nl-NL, nl-NB).

Fixes:

My Games & Apps

Fixed an issue where users were seeing multiple Games & Apps categories appearing in their category lists.

Groups

Fixed an issue where users would have issues navigating Groups within the Guide.

Localization

Various localization issues fixed in this build.

Search

Pressing Y button anywhere in the dashboard now will bring up search as designed.

Settings

Fixed an issue in which the console would turn back on after a full shutdown.

System Performance

Misc. performance fixes in the platform.

Known Issues:

Groups

Enabling Groups after taking the update: Groups may not appear for you on first sign in unless you do a full console reboot after taking the system update. This is being fixed in an upcoming build and should only affect having just taken this system update.

The Groups tab in My games & apps may not show after sign in even though you can access Groups in Guide, or you may see “This group does not exist” on Home on first sign-in for your existing Groups. Workaround: Sign in / out to refresh these pages.

Some changes might not be reflected when editing Groups between multiple consoles after coming out of connected standby. Sign in/out to fix.

Adding the Rewards app to Groups causes you to be unable to access your Groups. This is fixed for an upcoming build.

Using special characters in Group names (e.g. &,”) causes issues during Group creation or using the “Add more” flow. Note: emojis are fine. This is being fixed in an upcoming build.

You may see issues with Groups if you frequently switch between your non-Preview console and your Preview console. Workaround: Reset your Groups locally on the Preview console through “My games & apps” > Groups, then using the “Reset groups” button at the bottom of the page to resync from the service.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Networking

Work continues on the stability of the Wi-Fi connectivity. If you see any issues please report the problem for investigation by performing a Full system software via the dashboard as opposed to just pressing the Xbox Power button.

YouTube

Some users are encountering an issue where their YouTube account is being signed out whenever they launch the app.

Workaround: Uninstall/re-install the app and sign in with your account again.

Fixed an issue in which some users are black screen on boot after update.

Spotify Search

The search function in Spotify is working now. The Spotify team did an app fix.

Known Issues:

Pi-hole

Netflix

Netflix on Monitor only works at 1080p and does not support 1440p – Netflix is aware of the issue. Workaround : If watching Netflix on a Monitor/LCD please set the display output to 1080p.

HDR Issues

Some users are discovering that some games are not showing in HDR – Please file feedback when you encounter this to help in the investigation.

Spotify Search

Some users are discovering that the search function in Spotify is not working. Please file feedback when you encounter this to help in the investigation. Workaround – Type in a search hit enter and nothing happens. Click the left stick twice and it searches properly.

Controller sharing/ Co-pilot vibration issues

Some users may experience a problem with a controller vibrating non-stop when using the share controller or the co-pilot feature.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Home

Some users are reporting when quitting a game or app via the guide Home is not loading and you see a black screen.

Audio

If you are experiencing Audio low volume, distorted audio or not audio in some games or apps please file feedback.

Hulu app volume is lower and being investigated.
