Windows 10: Xbox one wired controller not detected on windows 10

Hello,This question will be similar to one answered before, however, the 'answer' in that question did not work for me.I understand that Xbox one controllers are supposed to be plug-and-play devices. However, when I plug a controller in and press the home button to turn it on, it only flashes until it times out and does not get recognized. When I plug the cable into the controller and into the back of my pc, it vibrates, but does not show up in the device manager and the Xbox Accessories app on my PC does not see any controllers connected. There are no updates for my controller, I
