Windows 10: Xbox Party chat not working. I can't talk to anyone

I've tried every possible thing I could think of or find, it's picking up my mic when I test it but when I hop into a party I can't hear anyone or say anything. For us to better isolate this issue, kindly provide us the following information below:

• Can you tell us if you're using a child account?
• May I know if you were able to join party chat on another computer while using the same account?
• Can you tell us the troubleshooting steps that you have tried so far?

In the meantime, I recommend that you try using another Xbox account in the Xbox app and check if you will be able to join party chat. This will help us to determine if the issue is within the app or on the account that you're using.

If you can't switch from in-game chat to party chat on your Xbox One console, it may indicate that there's a problem with the Xbox Live service or your network connection.

Ah yes, was it the Clownfish one? That was a problem years ago and I guess hasn't gone away completely.

Xbox Party Chat Not Working on PC: How to Fix If You Can't Join (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro ad)







Try resetting Xbox Game Bar, Xbox Console Companion and Xbox Live in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Xbox feature > Advanced Options. Restart PC and try again.

If those fail then try uninstalling the apps in Settings location above, restart PC then reinstall from MS Store Settings > My Library.

If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now.
