Windows 10: XBox Party Chat on PC Volume Issue

I am no longer able to hear chat audio from Xbox parties when signed in on my Windows 11 PC. I've tried joining parties both from the game bar and from the Xbox application but I am unable to hear anyone. The rest of the party can hear me. I've checked the volume settings while in a party and when I join the party multiple instances of Xbox show in the volume mixer portion of the sound settings. There will always be at least one instance with the volume set at 1 and the slider grayed out so I can't adjust it at all. I'm assuming this is why I can't hear the party, but I don't know how to

If you can't switch from in-game chat to party chat on your Xbox One console, it may indicate that there's a problem with the Xbox Live service or your network connection.

For us to better isolate this issue, kindly provide us the following information below:

• Can you tell us if you're using a child account?
• May I know if you were able to join party chat on another computer while using the same account?
• Can you tell us the troubleshooting steps that you have tried so far?

In the meantime, I recommend that you try using another Xbox account in the Xbox app and check if you will be able to join party chat. This will help us to determine if the issue is within the app or on the account that you're using.
