Windows 10: Xerox 6130N PS printer will not print with Windows 10

I just upgraded to a new PC after 10 years and the end of support for Win7. I have encountered a problem in that my Xerox printer is recognized by the new operating system but documents will not leave the print queue. Xerox no longer supports this printer and HP, makers of my new desktop, only support their own printers. I am frustrated and at a loss to solve this problem. I am a competent PC user for many years and have solved lots of problems for myself and others but this issue is a real Gordian Knot, must I purchase a new printer to slice through the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I can't dispose of my old PC till I get the printing issue resolved.

Xerox Docuprint C4350 Network Printer Access


Hi Folks.

I have an 32-bit XP machine on the house network driving an Canon MP495 and a Xerox Docuprint C4350. I can print to both printers from the XP machine. The XP is up to date. My work machine is a 64-bit Windows 10 machine connected to the same network. I can see both printers on the Windows 10 machine. I have connected to and can print to the MP495 over the network.

When I try to connect to the C4350 Windows 10 fails to find a driver. I have downloaded the specific 64-bit Windows 10 driver from the Xerox site and directed Windows 10 to that folder which contains what should be the correct INF file. However it says this is not the correct driver.

I am running out of things to try. Does anybody have a suggestion?

Windows 10 Home Won't Print to Remote Printer


I have three computers.
Machine 1: Windows 10 pro, has the USB Brother HL-5040 printer
Machine 2: Windows 10 pro, prints OK to the remote printer.
Machine 3: Windows 10 home, Used to print, but not anymore (THIS IS THE PROBLEM).
I’ve tried everything that I can think of, and would appreciate any suggestions.
I did these steps on Machine 3 that did not work.

1. Remove the printer device.
2. Add a Printer
3. The printer that I want isn’t listed
4. Select a shared printer by name
5. Browse
6. Select the displayed Machine 1.
7. Select the displayed Printer.
8. Next
9. Failure “Connect to Printer”.
10. Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or Hostname
11. Next
12. Set Hostname to Machine 2, and set port name.
13. Detecting TCP/IP Port
14. Additional Port information required.
15. Device Type – Standard, Brother Port Server
16. Next
17. Detecting the Driver Model
18. Install The Print Driver
19. Select Brother and Brother HL-5040
20. Next
21. Replace the Current Driver
22. Printer Name (setting it to HL-5040)
23. Next
24. Do not share this printer
25. Next
26. You’ve successfully added “HL-5040”
27. Finish

Printing on Machine 3 puts the document in the print queue, which reports error printing.
Printing from Machine 2 to the printer on Machine 1 works perfectly.
All three machines are in the same HomeGroup. Machine 3 can access the shared files from Machine 1.

 

Xerox N24 Docuprint Printer does not install on windows 10

Here's what happens:

-Search for printers and select 'The printer that I want isn't listed' option

-Select 'My printer is a little older. Help me find it.' option in pop-up window

-Select the Xerox N24 Docuprint printer from search pane

-Correct driver isn't listed in the normal driver files, select the 'Have Disk...' option and search driver files

downloaded from Xerox site, select the Xerox N24 Docuprint driver

-Give printer a name and press next

-It says its installing printer

-The name printer screen appears again

The last three steps keep looping, and I can't seem to figure out how to get it finalized. The drivers I have downloaded from Xerox were for windows 7, but the company has said

that those files will work with Windows 10, and that the issue is that Windows 10 requires a digitally signed driver. The N24 Docuprint drivers are indeed old enough that they do not have a digital signature with them.

Does anyone have a solution to this?
