Windows 10: Xerox VersaLink C405 driver issues

I have a client who is using a Dell PC running Windows 10 and a Xerox VersaLink C405 to scan documents into Total Appraisal Software for his appraisal business. Shortly after he set this system up, the driver began disappearing and he was unable to scan documents into Total. I have tried multiple times to update and reinstall the driver to the computer, which will work for a few weeks before the driver disappears again. There is no obvious change in the state of the system that would make this occur. I need to figure out a solution so the driver doesn't continue to disappear on him, and am looking for some suggested actions to take, as updating the driver nor using Device Manager has provided a long term fix.

The only changes I've made are windows update.

The Xerox I am using is a Versalink C405, and the Samsung is the Samsung 283x series.

I tried your ideas unfortunately they didn't work.

I have since tried stopping the spooler via services, clearing the printer bit in systems 32, and restarting it.

Went in and deleted the actual printer drivers as well as uninstalling the printer.

Restarted everything.

And it still doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestions would be great.

I can still print from one drive via the Xerox so it must be connecting somehow, and I can find it to reinstall it.

It's just print jobs aren't going from the laptop to the printer itself.

Xerox 7855 installation issues

I checked the services again to double check today and the RPC status was running and set on automatic.

I tried that again and went into services and I changed the RPC Locator to manual as you suggested.

I then went to install the driver for the Xerox and again the same window opens with the same Error:

Can't Open Add Printer: Remote Procedure Call Failed

I am beginning to think this is a one off issue, but it is still not working. I appreciate any advice on next steps.

XEROX PHASER 6200N

This doesn't work. It's now October 2016 and still no support from Xerox or Microsoft for Xerox Phaser 6200. The win7 Driver doesn't work either. Any other suggestions?
