XP VM on Hyper-v in Win 10can't Access my Host C drive and no ethernet connection

XP VM on Hyper-v in Win 10can't Access my Host C drive and no ethernet connection. I have Internet connection.

W10 to see a share on an XP machine you'll need to add 'SMB 1.0/CIFS Client' in Windows Features

    1. I already have SMB 1.0/CIFS check marked in Win 10. Still don't get Ethernet

    2. while creating Virtual switch I got following error msg.

Error : applying virtual switch properties changes failed while adding virtual ethernet connection.
External Ethernet adapter " Intel R 82567V- 2 Gigabit network connection is already bound to Microsoft Virtual switch protocol.
    Any suggestion?

    :)

Sharing WiFi between Win 10 host computer and Hyper-V hosted Windows 10 VM AND connecting to Windows VPN from Host computer

I have a Dell XPS 15 Win 10 Laptop on which I've activated Hyper-V and hosted a Win 10 Virtual Machine. Originally the host machine had a working connection to a work-based Windows based Virtual Private Network that worked perfectly. However, upon setting
up the Hyper-V hosted VM, I found that I had to share the WiFi connection between the host and the VM using a virtual switch adaptor that is "bridged" to the Host's WiFi if I wanted to share folders between the two machines. This had the added benefit of
allowing the VM to access the internet. But alas, as soon as that "bridged" sharing is established, the host machine can no longer connect to the Virtual Private Network! How can I share folders between the host & VM without bridging, or how can I continue
to connect to the VPN in the presence of virtual adapter bridging? I've worked on this issue off and on for months without finding a solution. Thanks to anyone who can provide a solution.

VM XP in Hyper-v WIN 10 No ethernet and error creating Virtual switch

For network access in Hyper-V an XP VM requires a Legacy Network Adapter to be added in its settings. If this is set to use the Default Switch you will have internet access. To be able to access shares on other machines on your network you'll need to set up an External Switch and set the XP VM's Legacy Adapter to use that.

Note that XP uses SMB1, so a Windows 10 machine must have the 'SMB 1.0/CIFS Server' enabled in its Windows Features before an XP machine can see its shares.

Access to local drives such as C: and USBs requires an Enhanced session, which is not available for an XP Hyper-V VM.
