    Hi, My company uses an application that generates documents in .XPS format. When a user generates a document of this type, the XPS viewer app displays a preview of the document. The XPS viewer app has a button that allows the user to print the document. This works on many of the computers we have both Windows 10 and Windows 11, but it is not working on one particular PC running Windows 10. On this PC, XPS viewer displays the document preview just fine, but when we click the print button, we get a message from XPS Viewer saying "A printing error has occurred. The XPS Viewer cannot print

    Printing to XPS no longer opens document prior to saving

    Hi Nancy,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

    • Are you trying to set the default program for XPS documents?
    If yes, you may follow these steps and check if it helps:

    a. Press
    Windows key + Q on the keyboard.

    b. Type “Default programs” without quotes and press
    Enter.

    c. Click on
    Associate a file type or protocol with a program.

    d. Scroll down to find “.oxps” (OXPS file) and double click on it.

    e. Select
    XPS viewer from the list and click on Close.

    The above steps will set the XPS viewer as default for the XPS documents.

    You may also use the Windows Reader to view XPS files. Let us know if you have any questions.

    XPS Viewer This page cannot be displayed error

    Hello! I have installed XPS Viewer to my computer. But an issue with it? When I am viewing a XPS document, the rest of the pages show an error message saying: This page cannot be displayed. I don't know why this keeps happening. How do I fix this issue, and what are the best alternatives to view XPS documents?
