Windows 10: Y vs Z up orientation

Hello,


As it is becoming more and more common to manage 3D files, there still a war between author softwares.

Which axis is the vertical one.

And it's always a nightmare when you get files if they are not oriented the way you want.


Could it be possible to get a preference in Windows, or in each Win 3D App 3D Builder, 3D print, 3D Paint MixedReality Viewer to get an option when you open a file Obj, 3MF, STL, GLB, GlTF, etc... to be able to switch from Y to Z and vice versa?

screen orientation

Hi,

There's an option on Windows 10 to switch between landscape and portrait orientation. We recommend following these steps on how to switch the screen orientation from portrait to landscape:

• On Cortana search, type display settings.
• Choose Display settings from the list.
• Under Orientation, select on Landscape and click
  Apply.

Typing y instead z

When I press y it types z , i tried a lot solutions but non of them worked, i checked in setting and there is shift + ctrl for changing keyboard layout but nothing happens when i do it, i also checked and its qwerty keyboard.

• In the search box on the taskbar, type Display.
• Select Display settings from the list of results.
• Now choose an orientation to landscape and check if that helps.

Or you may try resizing the windows by pressing
CTRL + ALT + Up Arrow.
