Windows 10: Yahoo Mail

I use Yahoo mail, and I really like it . . . I re-formatted my PC and installed ,Yahoo Mail. The first time you run it, it asks what installed

browser, you want to run it with? All my browsers where listed, and basic mail, was also listed. I thought the basic mail seemed OK, so I

picked it. Boy, was I wrong! It looks so blah!


If I type in mail.yahoo.com, or say to Cortana, "Yahoo Mail" It;s the normal look, that I like very much . . . But, if I click on the desktop

icon, with the normal path, I get the basic mail look, boring. I also thought, if I uninstalled, my Yahoo Mail, I could start all over. But,

Yahoo Mail, is not even listed in the Control Panel. What do i have to do to get a new file association, and fix this? It might be a small

issue, but I'm in my Yahoo mail quite a lot.

Regarding the issue that you had with making email replies on your Yahoo, have you tried performing a uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

We suggest that you follow these steps:

• Uninstall the Yahoo Mail app.
• Perform a soft reset by Pressing the Power and Volume down button simultaneously for 15 seconds.
• Once the phone vibrates, release your hold and wait for the phone to finish rebooting.
• Reinstall Yahoo Mail from the store.

Let us know if the issue persists after following the steps above.

I went this route and added passwords for yahoo mail. I might try this method above to get gmail to buck up! *Tongue

@Bastet, this is probably what you were referring to the whole time.


YAHOO MAIL FIX
2FA needs to be enabled which it already was and just follow these steps below.

1. In yahoo mails account security, click on manage app passwords.




2. After selecting other app and entering the new app name in the text box




3. Now, in Windows 10 mail app, add this type of account.




4. In Windows 10 mail app, enter your details and the password generated by step 2.




Fully functional mail app again.



GMAIL FIX

Now similar steps to setting up Gmail. Here I'll only go through the Gmail steps as Windows Mail App setup is the exact same.
