When I expand the list, I don't see which driver is the issue. If I view devices by type, I don't see any yellow warning sign. How do I go about diagnosing which driver is the issue? Currently I'm going through and trying to update everything under my computer. These are some of the devices underneath:I've been having issues trying to perform a Windows update for probably two years or more now as well with no success so I wonder if this is part of the issue... although I hav

  2. Drives are accessable but yellow warning sign

    Hi George,

I'm Stefano a Microsoft Independent Advisor, here to help you.

I suggest you to try this two procedures:

    A) Scan and repair for filesystem:

    1. Type "cmd" in windows search bar

    2. Right click on "Command Prompt"

    3. Select "Run as Administrator"

    4. Type "sfc /scannow" without quote and press ENTER

    Then:

    B) Remove and reinstall of device driver:

    1. Press WINDOWS + X

    2. Click on "Device Manager"

    3. Click on the hardware group that's not working

    4. Right click on your hardware with the yellow sign

    5. Click on "Uninstall device"

    6. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)

At this point search for driver update (if the yellow sign still is here):

    1. Press WINDOWS + X

    2. Click on "Device Manager"

    3. Click on the hardware group that's not working

    4. Right click on your hardware with the yellow sign

    5. Click on "Update device"

    6. Click on the online option for updating driver

Then tell me if that works, please.

  3. Am I getting the most out of my SSD?

    Step 1
Press "Windows-X" in Windows 8, and then select "Device Manager." In Windows 7 or Vista, click the "Start" button, type "device manager" into the search box, and then press "Enter."

    Step 2
Click the arrow next to "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" to display the list of controller drivers currently used by your system.

    Step 3
Check for an entry that contains the acronym "AHCI." If an entry exists, and there is no yellow exclamation mark or red "X" over it, then AHCI mode is properly enabled. If you don't see an "AHCI" entry, or the only entry contains a red or yellow mark, then there's a problem and AHCI mode is not properly enabled.
