    Yes another dumb pagefile question


    Hey

    After 30 mins of reading and many many excellent but contradictory guides and comments later I'm none the wiser.

    I have mid range win 10 gaming pc which has a lot of stuff open at once for Adobe, net, Adobe support packages and usually some music. The internet will have up to 100 tabs open but not in use for reference.

    I have 16gb of ram and 5 HD. Windows is on a 500gb sdd drive. I have another 1 tb dive and some larger hdd for work.

    What should my page file setup be exactly pls. Not a formula pls but the exact min and max or auto etc.

    Currently i have auto pagefile for c drive and 1000 and 4000 for d drive for additional pagefile. No idea if 2 is better than 1 ?

    In your opinion..

    Clear Pagefile on Shutdown


    I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:
    1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
    2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
    3. Restart Windows.
    I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?

    How to move pagefile for adaquate shrink

    windows wont allow you to dedicate 20 gigs, maximum paging is 4 gigs for windows XP, now id suggest you also put up the rest for the other drives you have (possibility a performance increase)
