Windows 10: Yesterday I could View recently used programs in start menu in Windows 10, but not today.

I open .txt files a lot with notepad; having the ability to pin them to the start menu, in a "jump menu" next to the "recently or frequently used" 'Notepad' that appeared in this spot was so easy to get to them again.

Can I get this back some how?


Seems like "Jump Menu's" has been removed??? Or turned off.

It's shown as turned 'On' (blue) in the start/personalization settings.

Windows 10 Start menu issue

Start Menu Recent files


It doesn't work off the start menu in win10, I posted the same a few weeks ago.

Oddly, if the programs appear in most recent used, then you do get the recent files list. Or if you pin to the task bar, you also get the recent list if you right click the icon.

Microsoft's proper name for these recent files is jump list.

Some has shown a beta of a later win10, and the jump list might return if pinned to the start menu. Doubly annoying is if you pin a program to the start menu, it's removed from most used.

Start menu........recent programs??? WM6

Is there a way to disable recent programs from appearing in the start menu? For instance when I use a program then close it. Then hit the start key it then lists every program I have used recently. That bugs me!! Is there
a way to disable this feature?
