Windows 10: yesterday I downloaded a game from steam, but it's crashing before it starts up

Windows 10 Steam game crashes

Hi,

To assist you better, I would like to ask some questions:

• Does the issue occur only with Steam games or all games?
• Are you able to view videos?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you to update the Graphic Card driver by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.

"CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" crash when downloading files through Steam

A few days ago this Windows 10 system which had been working normally for months began BSODing occasionally, but the system restarted so quickly I couldn't read what the error was. Yesterday it began doing this within a couple minutes of logging in every
time, and I figured out it was being triggered by steam downloading a game, as the crashes stopped if I stopped steam from loading on log in or if I simply paused the download. As long as I don't download anything through steam the system seems perfectly stable,
but I can easily reproduce the crash by starting a download through steam and letting it run for about a minute. Eventually one of the BSODs decided to stay visible for more than a second before it restarted and I was able to read the error "critical_process_died",
but I can't confirm that that's what the error has been every time.

The steps I've taken to try to fix whatever the problem is so far are making sure I've got the latest windows updates, and running chkdsk /f, which did not report any problems.

 

Steam and all Steam games suddenly started crashing

All of a sudden my Steam and all Steam games started crashing. These were working until 17/08. I didn't play for a week and they started crashing from 23/08.

The only thing that I can think of that i installed during this time is Visual Studio 2015 Community. I tried after uninstalling it but to no avail.

I contacted steam but they are unable to help.
