Hey guys, I know you've all seen 50 of these, as have I, but bear with me, as this is a bit different...

First, the album with the relevant screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/a6b0sQk

    Now for more info:

I used to be in the Insider program on Release Preview, but noticed I have not been getting updates for almost a year. I had just gotten in the habit of downloading and applying the CUs manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog. No worries there.

But for the better part of a year, I have been fighting this "some settings are managed" thing, and finally need to ask for help. Note that I have checked the following:

    1. I'm running a release build of Windows not a preview - 18363.535 - the latest CU of 1909.
    2. I have no Group Policies enabled except "detailed status messages at boot" which is not related to this.
    3. I am not enrolled in Insider program on this PC.
    4. Diagnostic settings are also showing the policy message and are showing locked by Insider Program.
    5. Changing GPEdit.Msc -> Admin Templates -> Windows Components -> Data Collection and Preview Builds -> Allow Telemetry to various values and back to Not Configured has no effect.

Is there some other place where Insider status is maintained and/or where group policies would be getting forced from?

UPDATE SETTINGS MANAGED BY YOUR ORGANIZATION - not true

"Some settings are managed by your organization" means the setting is controlled by a group policy.

It's a long story but I'll make it quick: The Professional edition of Windows was primarily intended for a managed environment, which is a fancy term for a network managed by an IT department.

In a managed environment, computers are grouped together and managed as a group by a set of policies adopted by the IT department. Ergo: group policies.

Windows ships with a template of common group policies that the IT department can customize.

Even if your computer is not part of any organization, if you have the Professional edition, you have the group policy template. Therefore, "some settings are managed by your organization."

In the twisted logic of the technology industry, this makes perfect sense ;-)

Some settings are managed by my organization?

A long while ago, when Win 10 privacy concerns were new, I ran some kind of utility that claimed to stop like 20 violations with one step. Fast forward to today, and I go to do Windows Update, and it tells me in red font color "*Some settings are managed by your organization" - well, I don't have an organization, I'd just like to get Windows Update back to normal. Any idea how?

Yet another Windows Update "some settings managed by organization" - but with a twist

Windows10 Update "Some Settings are Managed by Your Organization"

When Windows updates alerts me to available new Updates Ready to be installed....in Red I now see "Some settings are Managed by Your organization"...Please see attachment ....

This began about 2 months ago following the creation of a new user Account. A Display issue was causing my Win10 Start List not to show any Text to the right of the programs in the lists and the solution to correct that issue from another Post here...suggested
creating a new User account.... The instructions were detailed, I followed each step...the new User Account was created and it resolved the issue....

Following the creation of the New user acct, every time Window Updates are offered....the Alert in red "Some Settings are managed by Your organization" displays (see Attachment). The old User account never displayed this Alert.

Clicking on "View Configured Update Policies....it seems this alert is being caused by Mobile Device Management????

I have no idea what that means, or, how any settings would have been set to have some of my settings managed by your organization.

My PC is one of 3 PC's in my Home....it has never been connected to any organization...ie work, etc. During the creation of the New user account at no time was there anything that addressed Organization, Mobile devices during the creation of the New
    user Acct.

How do I remove this Alert?
