HELLO, WHY I'M GETTING THE ERROR OF "YOU NEED AN APP TO OPEN WINDOWSDEFENDER LINK" WHENEVER I TRY TO OPEN THE WINDOWS DEFENDER AND WHAT IS A SOLUTION OF THIS I HAD TRIED EVERYTHING THE CMD COMMANDS, REGEISTRY EVERYTHING BUT NOTHING IS WORKING I ALSO FORMTED MY WHOLE PC BUT NOTHING WORKS AND THE WINDOWS SECURITY APPLICATION IS ALSO NOT SHOWING IN APP SECTION. I'M USING WINDOWS 11

Hello,

I've just gotten a brand new Acer laptop running Windows 10 Home (OS Build 18362.267), and I'm getting the error message "You'll need a new app to open this windowsdefender link" when I try to click on any options in the Windows Security page in Settings
(Open Windows Security, Virus & threat protection, Account protection, etc.). It gives me the option to look for an app in the Microsoft Store, but there's no app listed when I do that.

Any idea how to fix this?

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
