Windows 10: "You need permission to perform this action" Microsoft has again commandeered my pc-

if I "have" to buy a new PC again, simply because you're all THAT greedy- I'd sooner commit honestly. This is LITERALLY the *fourth* piece of sh*t plastic and metal bits that I've bought upwards of 300$ in the last seven years- and despite I am the only user, I am still unable to "own" it.Imagine being refused access to your own OneDrive I didn't even know I had an account- much less uploading all the documents I own folder.Even more so, the fact there is no actual way to talk to someone and inquire further- as well as things like medical records that are under a HIPPA act... very odd. That

I don't know what you mean "Go to the computer that you do have permission". The computer that I'm using doesn't grant me permission to copy a file. I have done the routine that you suggest using the properties dialog.

I suggest you to ensure you are logged into an Administrator user account and check if you still find the issue. Generally, this error message is related to permissions and ownership. If you do not have sufficient permissions to view the file/folder/drive
you get this error message. I suggest you to try to take the ownership of this drive and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and click on Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type in the command takeown /f <drive_name> \ /R /D Y
• You can replace the < drive_name(F)> with the target drive name.

Also try the transfer on a different computer and check the status of the issue.

Hi,

I have rather strange problem. I cannot delete files in my public folders, as an error message always pops up which says "you need permission to perform this action from MYPC/guest." I don't know what to do. I am logging on to this PC with my microsoft account,
and have not created any other account. I do not have a "guest" account in my user account list. In fact, no other account than microsoft account, which is of course Administrator.
