Windows 10: "you need to install an app for this task. Would you like to search for one one the Store?"...

When I turn my computer, after clicking sign in; it says "you need to install an app for this task. Would you like to search for one one the Store?" When I click yes it doesn't do anything and goes back to the login screen.I have had it for several years and never had a problem until today

I would suggest you to try running Windows store app troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Type troubleshooting in the
  Search area on the taskbar.
• Click on View all on the left panel of the Troubleshooting Windows.
• Select Windows store Apps.
• Follow the on screen instruction.

I suggest you to check if Windows search service is running.

• Press Windows + R key and type "services.msc" and press
  enter.
• Locate the Windows Search service and right click on it.
• Click on Properties and check the
  start option has been enabled.
• Check if issue persists.

Unable to install Apps downloaded from Windows Store

I suggest that you perform the steps mentioned below and check if the issue occurs.



Step 1: Run App Troubleshooter.

Note: The troubleshooter automatically fixes some issues that might prevent your apps from running, including suboptimal screen resolution and incorrect security or account settings.

• Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and press Enter.
• Click on ‘View All’ on the top left pane.
• Click on “Windows Store Apps” from the list and follow the on-screen prompts for troubleshooting.

Step 2:

If the issue persist, I would suggest that you un-install and re-install the app from Windows Store.



Note: Exit store when trying to re-install the app.

Installed store apps don't show up in search
