  1. "You’ll Need to Provide Administrator Permission to..." messages even though I am the Admin.

I've transferred a hard drive (storage drive - no OS there) from my old computer to the new one and every time I try to rename a file or create a new one I keep getting "You’ll Need to Provide Administrator Permission to..." messages.
It looks like a permissions issue, going there I see user accounts don't have permission to "Write" but the administrator account has, yet my account happens to be the admin one (no other accounts ) and I still get those messages anyway. Is this normal? If so, what's the reasoning? (I mean, I AM the admin).

Are there any solutions to this other than right clicking on the drive and change the "write" permissions to include all users? I've started the process but the drive is quite large and I figured it'd take a while (which I guess it also means wear), plus it sounds like a "hacky" workaround for a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place, so I've cancelled it and thought I'd ask Reddit.

    • CMD will appear at top.
    • Right click on it, then choose Run as administrator.
    • Type this command & hit Enter: Net user administrator /active:yes.
    • After you enable the Super Administrator account, log out on your existing account then log into Super Administrator account.
    • On the Super Administrator account, you can now create an Administrator account or give Administrator permission on the existing account.

  3. Win7 User Admin permissions broken

Basically it's an administrative user not the root admin , I don't know what it went wrong with settings and i forogot , but the permissions for it account were messed and now it cannot delete/edit sometimes stuff that came from rar or downloader or even installs, plus cannot uninstal most of programs , it's only possible with root admin (hidden), is there a way to restore these privilegies.

Also the error points "You need administrative privilegies from Administrators/[Nickname] "
BUT I AM THE DAMN USER !!!!

It's not my PC so i really don't want to dig it up from scratch.

The PC has RAID0 so basically im not going to go over that again with a reinstall/reformat. ... takes time.

How to always allow administrator permissions for a specific application

    Hi Lyon,

Windows 10 gives users the ability to customize how they run applications. We suggest that you follow the steps below on how to grant administrator permission to a specific application:

    • Click the Windows icon on your Windows 10 screen that will open the list of applications. Right click on the specific application that you wish to have an admin permission, click the
More and click Open file location.
    • A new window will open to the location of the program. Right-click on the program and click
      Properties from the pop-up menu.
    • In the Properties window, click the Shortcut tab and then click
      Advanced.
    • In the Advanced Properties window, check the box next to
      Run as administrator
      and click OK.
    • The program will now open in administrator mode when you click the shortcut from the Start menu. Repeat the steps above for other desired applications.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
