Windows 10: Your icloud settings are out of date

This comes up persistently for the mail app. I reenter my password again and again and its never saved. Help!!

Hi,

Conflicts with your account settings is one of the possible reasons why you are having the out-of-date account settings issue. If you've enabled the two-factor authentication on your iCloud account, you'll need to generate an app-specific password to add
your iCloud account to the Mail app.

• Sign in to your
  Apple ID account page.
• Select Generate Password below App-Specific Passwords.
• Follow the instructions on your screen.

To be able to understand the issue better, let us know a few more details on the below question.

• Is the iCloud email set up in Windows Mail App?
• Do you receive the iCloud Notification only when you open/access the Mail App in Windows or any other associated e-mail client program in your computer?

Now, if you turn off a service in iCloud for Windows, your data won't automatically be kept up to date in iCloud, and you won't see updates made on your other devices. This might lead to a conflicting situation and the message/notification
'iCloud account settings are out of date' might appear. So, kindly check if the sync settings are correct.

• Go to Start > All Apps, and open iCloud for Windows.
• Enter your Apple ID to sign in to iCloud.
• Choose the features and content that you want to keep up to date across your devices.

Alright. How about removing this account under Web Credentials? Just follow the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel.
• Select User Accounts.
• Click Credential Manager.
• Tap your iCloud account and tap Remove.

Reboot your computer and try setting up the account again and see if it makes any difference.
