Windows 10: Your Phone Companion and USB Headset

My problem is the simplest. Everything on the Phone Companion works except that the voice does not come over my USB Headset. I have a HyperX gaming headphone that is connected via a USB hub by Anker.


I use a bluetooth 5.0 adapter on the PC that connects to the phone.


When I get phone calls I see the indicator and the sound comes through my headset. However, when I pick up the call, nothing comes over the headset.


This is the only thing that is not working on my system. Is the phone companion only working with Bluetooth headsets or can it work with

USB ones. I like this Phone companion feature but this is the only thing that is not working. Please advise if you know of a solution.

Hi,

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Phone companion app and check if you are facing the issue

To uninstall the phone companion app please follow the steps below:

• 
  Type phone companion in the
  search box.
  
• 
  Right click on
  phone companion and click on uninstall.
  

Once it is uninstalled, you can reinstall it from windows store.

Your Phone Companion is working but often weird

Just more and more "historical" messages. Now, messages I write on the input panel on the right appear in the list on the left but the message I wrote doesn't appear on the right side panel, just more historical messages.

At least the thing seems to work. Sort of two steps forward and three to the left and back.

I wish someone who was a real coder would write a decent app like this, one that was, uh, tested and didn't have an idiotic name like "Your Phone Companion". SIGH.

 

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
