    I installed your phone companion app for the first time, and I am very concerned about privacy. I just wanted to know if this app syncs data with a cloud server or just sync devices over the local network.

    Outlook/Hotmail accounts will sync through the cloud. POP3 or IMAP email accounts don't, but they can be added manually for both the desktop and the phone. Both platforms will get the emails, but it has nothing to do with activesync. It's quite evident when sending emails from these accounts from either platform. The sent email only shows up on the platform's "Sent" folder from where it's sent from and not on the other platform.

    At best, Phone Companion is just partial sync as oppose to full sync for the iPhone and Android. Yes, there are apps that can sync other than Outlook/Hotmail email accounts, but activesync/Hotmail connector does not do that. Even if it is called Phone Companion now...

    I used to have an iPhone that had no issues with syncing with Outlook via a USB cable, or BlueTooth. There was no need for cloud either, direct sync between the desktop and iPhone. Activesync or Hotmail connectors do not work with direct links, they only work with the cloud...
