Windows 10: Your Phone Recording and Playback Mic and Speakers

Just got the "Calls" feature of Your Phone working on my PC. The only issue is that Your Phone does not provide a mechanism to select my preferred mic and speakers. Skype allows selecting the devices, including the Default Communication Devices as set in the Control Panel > Sound. Your Phone uses the Default devices and does not provide a way to select the devices as Skype does. Would be great to have this feature in Your Phone

Combo headphone jack does not detect mic


Sorry. right click on speaker in systray, click on playback. The "Sound" window opens. Click on Speakers tab, likely already there, click on your headset, assuming its plugged in, click on properties. In general tab it shows jack.

I suggested through speakers as you said mic did not show up on Recording tab.

 

Windows Phone Camera App: Recording Video with headset microphone instead of internal mic

The phone only uses the built-in mic when recording videos on the Camera app. If you want to use an external mic when recording videos, it is best that you send this suggestion through Feedback Hub so our developers can work on it. To send a feedback on
your phone, you can follow the steps below:

• Go to All apps, search for the Feedback
  Hub app.
• Open the Menu icon at the top left side.
• Select Feedback, then tap the Add button
  (+) at the top right side.
• Select Suggestion and provide the details needed in the box.
  
• Select the right category and then submit.

(it'll be an open air recording, so you need a mic and speakers; I use 'voice notes' with a smart phone)
