Windows 10: Youtube stops playback while not focused. End my suffering...

Edit for clarity.

I play Final Fantasy 14 and like to watch/listen to youtube in the background. Recently (a few months) it has stopped playing while the computer is focused on 14. I have tried chrome's flags (the ones that used to fix this no longer exist apparently), firefox, and edge. They all do the exact same thing.

It appears as though it stops loading when ff14 is in focus. It will play for a few minutes or less, then stop. It will begin loading and playing again the instant I even hit alt-tab to go see wtf is going on. This issue does not occur when I am using dual monitors with the browser on the second monitor.

I have searched around but I am stumped. Hopefully someone can provide some help!

• Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
• Click OK.

• Are you getting any error messages when playing these videos?
• Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?
• Does the issue with video playback only happen on YouTube?

i suggest you get a program called SUPER it's free and encodes video to prepare for youtube uploads.

Issues while playing videos on YouTube

Whenever I try to watch videos on youtube, my laptop won't play them and just keep loading. Every time I try, the audio function stops working and then the video will play. I have ran the troubleshoot for the audio and it says it's fixed but then the video
won't play again. It's not my wifi since my roommates are able to load youtube fine as well as my phone. Any suggestions on what I should do?
