Windows 10: Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection worked first time after install and now will not launch-...

I purchased Zoo Tycoon 2 last year for my son and installed on his HP laptop, has windows 10. It worked fine for first few start ups and now every time I click on the icon to start it, I get the screen to select "play" but then nothing happens. I can uninstall and reinstall, and it will do the same thing- work for one or two tries, then wont launch again after. I have tried:


-running and installing in every compatibility mode available - 7, 8, Vista, XP, etc

-changing screen resolution

-installing all the latest drivers

-uninstalling and reinstalling all drivers, including graphics

-scans as an admin in the command prompt like SFD or something? Cant remember the name


It has the AMD radeon, which should obviously be more than adequate to run this game.


I am at a complete loss as to what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
